Sound Portraits at MSR Classics

Sound Portraits: Orchestra, Chamber and Electro-Acoustic Music by Vivian Adelberg Rudow, MSR Classics, includes selected compositions composed from 1985, The Healing Place, to 2012, Moo-Goo-Gipan Smash!, displaying historical composition development into an amazing variety of styles. There are very few composers who have the music skills to compose in classical acoustic and electro-acoustic music, and the combined genres. This historical CD includes performers from solo pianists to the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

In the Sound Portraits album, you can trace how she, like Brahms and Bartók began to incorporate folk music (our pop rhythms and vocabulary) into her music in Spirit of America near the late middle section, and later in John’s Song, Variation 1, and then Go Green!, music that symbolizes groups of enthusiastic people cleaning up streams, waterways, parks and roadsides.
